Emiliana

Emiliana was not her given name. She was born far from the islands she would eventually call home. As a young girl, she took passage aboard what she believed was a merchant ship. It was all meant to be a fun trip -an adventure with friends- to mark the start of her adulthood. It was too late when she discovered that the true trade of the vessel was people. As the ship docked the shores of the Barachan Isles, she escaped.

It was not easy, having been cornered at a cliff side she tested fate, choosing to give up her life rather than be sold in the markets. The seas had been rough that day but not unforgiving. She had washed up on the shores a bit away from where she took her leap, an older woman and her daughters took her in. Having hit her head when she woke there was not much she had remembered prior to the ship.

So rather than return to the life she had known and given the name Emiliana, she made a new one there.

She learned the island trade from the ground up. What began as a means of survival soon became profitable. Emiliana became a merchant, then a smuggler, and occasionally something close enough to a pirate though she will tell you "It is not good to believe rumors"

During what should have been another profitable voyage, a storm threatened to swallow the Black Orchid. Navigation became impossible. Emiliana awoke upon an unfamiliar shore with no ship, no crew, and no way of getting home. She has no intention of remaining stranded intending to do what she has always done. Establish herself, practice trade, and turn misfortune into opportunity.
